The organisation and proposed use of funds must be charitable and deliver a clear public benefit.
Relevant connection
Explain the link to former Rugby Cement employees, their families, a former plant or an associated community.
Demonstrable need
Show who benefits, what problem is being addressed and what practical change the work will make.

A useful initial enquiry includes:

- 02Location and the relevant people or plant-community connection
- 03A concise description of the activity and need
- 04Who benefits and the anticipated practical outcomes
- 05Total cost, amount requested, timescale and other funding

Before sending documents
Do not bury the idea under attachments.
Begin with a short enquiry. If the proposal could be eligible, the Fund may request accounts, a governing document, safeguarding information, a project budget or other due-diligence material.
Trustees have discretion over every award. Charitable status or geographic connection does not create an automatic entitlement to funding.
