Responsible grant-making Registered charity 265669
The principles behind every award
Trustees must direct charitable resources carefully, consistently and within the Fund’s governing objects.

Fit with the objects
Support must benefit an eligible person, an appropriate class or group, or a charitable organisation or community purpose within the governing framework.
Evidence proportionate to risk
The Fund may ask for different information depending on the amount, purpose, beneficiary and organisation. Checks should be sufficient without being excessive.
Discretion and stewardship
No person or organisation is automatically entitled to funding. Trustees consider need, public benefit, available resources and responsible use of the charity’s funds.
Good grant-making is humane in tone and rigorous in decision-making.
